Mother 3 - H A P P Y

"Everyone is happy now."

Your faceless proclamation echoes through my mind, if I have one, and never does quite set in. If I had . w i l l . I would question what it means. To think it's something countless pine for. The stilled, mechanical, inanimate obediance you call perfection.

To think it's something we all breathe for.

"We" as there is something here, within this restructured form, that is more than dead, unliving, unconscious space. The light that makes me . m o r e . than the puppet I was made to be and more than the nothing that this body is.

And then a flicker, a thought, a nameless something flashes in my mind

I do have one.

There is, or more likely than not, w a s, something before the reticent fog.

"What is it?" I inwardly ask.

A haunting hallogram of her smiling teeth. A mirrored image of a boy who must be me. A home. A . f a m i l y . An unsubsiding pain with vague cause and no injury. Thoughts and understanding. Questions and revelations.

Before long my mind and body, if truly they do exist, are no longer my own. Once again. I'm slipping into this unending abyss between living and not living, as what little I could not regain,

but almost did,

is stripped away.

And once again the memories wash away
with the liquid green

and here I am

<sup>In Mother 3 (Earthbound 2), people, animals, and chimera are placed (or do they place themselves?) into rather cliche looking tanks filled with green liquid. When they come out, they are completely obedient to King P and act really strange. When ~KumoNoKuni and I roleplay, the Masked Man often begins having very human and indepenant thoughts/feelings after interacting with the for a while pigmasks, so he has to have his memories "washed" so he will revert back to being Pokey's soulless "pet".
