Happy July 4th!
For the Picture Challenge I drew another Mello and Near picture. Because I simply adore them. This scene takes place when Mello and Near are young, back when they were living at the orphanage together. A storm broke out and cute little Near gathered up all his toys to seek shelter underneath his blanket. Mello must have noticed the lump so he grabbed a flashlight to check out what he was up to. Of course, a more sensitive Mello would probably join or comfort him, but I do imagine he just wants to see the look on a frightened Near's face and savor the rare moment. Haha. This was just a quick sketch I did the other night that I thought was so cute I had to color and submit it. >< I used this CGing technique because it's faster and I want to get better at it, of course. It doesn't look as dynamic as I wanted it to be initially, but the soft look grew on me so I decided to upload it without further tweaking. Pencil + Mouse Comments

You've portrayed Mello and Near very lovely, and the coloring is brilliant.  -- I am a gay man trapped in a lesbian's body.       Rainbow Flavored Eeek, I love the colors! The way you sort of blended different ones in that splotched color way makes it all come together in a very pretty way. The background (outside the windows) is done so well, too. Rain scares me...I could never attempt it because I know it'd look horrible. XD
But yes! Lighting, colors...so pretty. Well done and fits the theme nicely. <3 -- mansex.  very very very cute!!

Oh, you have an L club! *goes to check it out* Thank you, it's actually pretty fun coloring that way. It's less time consuming and you usually end up using a lot of different colors. I'm terrible at drawing rain but I'm glad you think it turned out okay.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
